To Fight Inclination (Poem)

When was the day your passion turned to apathy

When did expression become the reason for your suffering

They opened the door but the cue went

See the fluttering colors as ideas meant

But ignorance loves you

Contradiction dances as the wick blackens towards desperation

Introspection reflects like dogs howling at their masters

Tasting iron puckers my tongue at the irony of life

Barrels of fun rolling in a symphony of self-destruction

Debating the truth of free will but really hurdling control

Fate of not drinking until poetry drips as tissues at a funeral

Fentanyl staring through their soul after ten years have gone

A parent revolting for their death with advocacy

Inaction scorned as weakness and belittled by pity

Caricatures socialized minted as currency begging for approval

TBA: your face stakes smoke so don’t be late

Congratulations for your pontifications
